Being part of a group does not guarantee teamwork among co-workers. Even forming work groups does not guarantee teamwork.
Teamwork is a cooperative effort by members of a team to achieve a common goal. Teambuilding occurs when a group of people, with (hopefully complementary) professional and personal strengths commit to achieve certain goals. They work together toward focused performance results.
We recommend that any team-building effort or teamwork exercise utilize the Four Building Blocks of Teamwork:
• Brainstorming (analyze + discuss terrain, weather, trails, maps, expertise,…)
• History (learn from previous efforts and others’ experiences, archive: remember to remember)
• Natural emergent leader within group (circumstantial, lead and let natural expert lead you. No when to lead and when to hand over + trust others)
• Failure is only feedback (verbal, non-verbal, body language, results….)
An experience in our ranch setting and Western environment helps individuals within teams to develop a new appreciation for collaboration. One of our most successful collaborative exercises in teamwork and team building is the cattle drive; which we outline in Ride for the Brand.
Shell Lodge Event & Adventure Company stands ready to work both with your personnel and/or performance consultants (yours, or those of our suggestion) to:
• Foster teamwork
• Develop new appreciation for collaboration
• Build stronger teams
• Improve team decision-making abilities
• Resolve conflicts within the team
• Enhance customer service
• Aid companies in planning for and adapting to a continually changing future
Perhaps you have an industry-specific objective or technical matters to address? We would work closely with your consultants to provide the platform for optimal experiential-learning.
See, Ride for the Brand, Positive Impact, and Leadership.
