Equestrian Activities
If you are looking to organize equestrian oriented activities look no further. Equestrian Corporate and Teambuilding adventures are our signature activities. We are a year-round working cattle guest ranch and Western Equestrian operation. We have horses for all levels of riders and our wranglers / team leaders are all experienced horsemen that are passionate about teaching and guiding people in a safe environment.
We have access to approximately 500,000 acres of private, National Forest, BLM and Wilderness land allowing rides at elevations from 4,200 feet in the valley to over 11,000 feet in the Cloud Peak Wilderness. In terms of scenery you will find a rarely seen diversity from half desert, alpine forests, alpine prairies with sage, craggy green and rocky canyon and mountain lakes and streams.

Horseback Riding
Whether you are a beginning rider or very experienced rider we have horses, wranglers and rarely seen variety of trails that will satisfy you. Many people come to The Hideout to learn how to ride in a safe, professional and non-stressful way. Many advanced riders come because the wide open spaces, excellent horses and horsemen.
Cattle Drives & Round-Ups
Every City-Slickers Dream, however at The Hideout Lodge & Guests Ranch you participate in real ranch work. We program and share some of the lands with the 100-year old Flitner Ranch. The Hideout Lodge & Guest Ranch is a real working cattle guest ranch. You can participate in brandings, ½ round-ups in the valley or full day round ups and drives most of the year.
Team Penning & Gathering Cows
Start out by gathering yearlings in the lower pastures, driving them through the Shell Creek up the hill to The Hideout area. The Hideout takes pride in a full size competitive arena where you will get organized and compete in teams. A great and fun team building activity.
Natural & Authentic Horsemanship Initiation
We adopt a low stress leadership culture when it comes to working and handling horses, livestock and yes…our people. Horses are great teachers and understanding how the horses’ mind works is not only the foundation of becoming a better rider but at the same time a better leader and communicator.
Non-Verbal Communication & Leadership
This is a more in-dept concept and clinic with the possibility to combine Meyers-Briggs Concepts. Horses are not handicapped by thinking like humans, but they feel presence and intention. They always test you as a leader and communicator.
Trail Riding
With close to 500,000 acres to ride in a variety of terrain, elevations, diversity of scenery, valleys, canyons, alpine forests & meadows and lakes and streams this regions is unmatched when it comes to trail riding. Join us in riding the big-country, old cattle and forest trails or part of the historic mail-trails and these can all be handled at all riding levels. We offer ½ day, 2/3 days and full days riding.
Riding Initiation
Every year more and more people come to The Hideout Lodge & Guest Ranch to learn how to ride or improve their riding skills. Our instructors / wranglers know how to communicate and improve your skills in a safe and trustful environment.
Clinics & Seminars
We offer a diversity of riding clinics and seminars at The Hideout Lodge & Guest Ranch varying from Colt starting, Trail riding, Natural & Authentic Horsemanship, Trouble shooting, balanced riding, etc.
